Drawing – Arlan Azoulai

I started drawing by frequently attending various live model ateliers in Paris. Doing so got me quickly very attached to the beauty of the human figure.

When I draw a model I am rarely interested in anatomy, rather I prioritize capturing the attitude, the energy and the rhythms – that is to say the spirit of the model. The majority of these drawings were made from life : some being made in a few minutes or even seconds, others over entire hours.
